Bloomin’ Tunes Together
Sometimes you just have to respond to something that presents itself from out of the blue. I didn’t want to derail my efforts of beginning a new series for a summer solo show by letting this idea take over my thinking. But it was such a fun little idea I thought I’d play with it a bit. My mantra for this painting season is “together”. Just one word to help me focus my efforts. It has meant so far this year things like spending time on things that matter in my personal life, to putting things “together” in my artwork. Like music and flowers. And fabric pieces given to me by my talented sister-in-law seamstress/fiber artiste, and of course color. Using the same elements that I have been working with over the last couple of years I have created a different way of bringing surface texture variety to my work. I am not shy about using color so that didn’t need amping up. But how I used it was a new thing for me. Again I wasn’t looking to significantly change how I work, just making a small change to incorporate my “together” mantra. This painting is available at the www.FramersMarketnh.com, Manchester, NH
